Soke Joe Varvello is the Founder and Principal Instructor of JuJitsu Australia Dojos and a founding member of the Jujitsu Instructors Alliance.
Soke Joe commenced training in Martial arts in 1975 in the Art of Karate. From 1976 he furthered his knowledge in the Martial Arts by training in the Art of Ju-jitsu under shihan Wayne Brabham who himself trained under Hanshi Matthew Komp. As the years progressed, Soke Joe has developed a passion for the Art of Ju-jitsu and the fundamentals of its teachings. He has over 30 years experience in Martial Arts and this is truly evident in the Dojo. Soke Joe is a reliable Instructor and an excellent Practitioner which is evident when he demonstrates his techniques.
Soke Joe has trained with some of the great Masters, Australia and International such as: The late Shihan Jan De Yong, Kancho Barry Bradshaw (Australia). Professor Don Jacob (Don Jitsu Ryu,Purple Dragon Trinidad). Professor Wally Jay(Small Circle Jujitsu USA) who also presented Soke Joe with the "OHANA AWARD" Certificate of Recognition issued from Jujitsu America on August 7, 1993.
Soke Joe Varvello is the Founder and Principal Instructor of Ju-Jitsu Australia Dojos established on August 8th, 1998. Soke Joe is one of the co founders of Jujitsu Instructors Alliance founded in 1998. Soke also attends seminars on invitation and teaches at seminars on request. Soke also performed and conducted jujitsu demonstrations at fundraising events. Soke conducts jujitsu training camps for students of all ages.
